A beautiful experience in the himalayan mountains

6 Days / 5 Nights

Overview

Kuari pass walk begins at Joshimath, Himalayan region of Chamoli, which has grown into a hub for trekkers and pilgrims in this section of Himalayas, south of the Tibetan border. Kuari means "doorway," and we believe it refers to a portal into one's inner self. The Himalayas are arranged before you in a majestic arc as you climb higher, and the play of light from the trees is a visual joy. It's almost holy to look so intently at the sky-high mountains. To enjoy the best view of Mount Nanda Devi, go through the oak and deodar woods.

Itinerary

Get to Joshimath as soon as possible. If you prefer to employ our transportation services, we'll meet in Haridwar at 9 a.m. and drive to Joshimath. Spend the night at a guest home or a hotel in Joshimath, or simply enjoy the lovely evening of Joshimath.

After breakfast, we depart for Dhak Village at 7:30 a.m. to begin our trip. Keep a jacket on hand just in case you need it, but if the weather is nice, a t-shirt and a fleece will suffice. You'll hike up dusty trails to Tugashi village, where you'll locate your first water source. It's a lovely tiny village where you can watch how the residents go about their daily lives. As you rise from Tugashi village, the environment changes, and you'll find yourself travelling through a lovely oak forest. The woodland occasionally gives way to a clearing or a meadow. You'll stop for lunch at Gulling at 1 p.m., relax, and get ready for our Campsite here.

Today is the last day of preparations for the last climb to Tali Campsite. Although the ascent isn't very difficult, the next four kilometres will be spent walking uphill. Tali campground is located in the midst of the forest, and you'll be pleased you came since you'll be greeted by a crew with hot drinks and refreshments.

Today will go down in history as one of the most significant days of your life. Because you'll be travelling up and down hills and snow slopes, it'll be a lot better than the day before (in the winter months). The breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, the snowfield you'll traverse, and the sensation of being on top of the world at Kuari Top will leave you speechless. The trail's highest point, Kuari Top, takes roughly 4 hours to reach. Today, you may view peaks like Neelkantha, Nanda Devi, Hathi Ghoda Parvat, Dronagiri, Pangarchulla, and Chaukhamba. After spending some time at the pass, we retrace our steps back to Tali by late afternoon.

Early in the morning, get up. Enjoy the stunning dawn while eating breakfast in the Himalayas. We'll begin our descent from Dhak to Joshimath, which will include a 9-kilometer hike and a 13-kilometer vehicle ride. Arrive at Joshimath in the evening and enjoy your final day of trekking.

Our Kuari Pass Trek is coming to an end today. Take some group shots and bid your new pals farewell. Return to the guest house and check out. If you're travelling with us, we'll drop you off in Haridwar late at night.
